ALWAYS email or call the farm or store BEFORE YOU GO - many farms have closed in the past year, and of course, we won't know until the season starts and we find they aren't open! Call to confirm their supply, their hours and whether they have trees, are allowing choose-and-cut or just precut trees; and which attractions or winter activities are available. All three can change during the short Christmas season, due to weather, demand and the farmer's business conditions! December 2024: Tree supplies are looking good, but expect prices to be up again, maybe 5% this year. It's always smart to get to the tree farm early and tag or reserve your tree, if they allow it. Many tree farms allow tagging starting in mid-November.

You may choose and cut your own Christmas tree beginning the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, November 25. Starting then, we will be open daily from 8 AM till 4:30 PM. The 2018 price is (Prices may have changed!) $55 for any tree that you choose and cut yourself. We also have shaking and baling available for $7 per tree. These prices include sales tax. You may choose and cut your own Christmas tree beginning the day after Thanksgiving. Tammen Treeberry Farm is one of the largest choose and cut Christmas tree farms in Illinois. We grow about 160 acres of Christmas trees. The largest share of the trees that we have growing here are Douglas Fir, Canaan fir, and Fraser fir. We have Scotch pine and white pine up to 15 feet or so in height. We have Douglas Fir up to 10 feet or so in height. The tallest Fraser fir are around 9 feet tall. We have Canaan fir up to about 8 feet. The demand for firs has increased in recent years. We have fewer of them that are large.
