Whether you want to cut your own tree, pick a live tree and have it cut for you, buy a tree already cut or buy a living tree you can plant, this page provides detailed listings of Idaho's choose-and-cut Christmas tree farms, places to buy pre-cut (also called pre-harvested and fresh-cut) trees, stands, sleigh rides, hay rides and related winter events and fun. The farms are listed further down this page, so scroll down the page! I'm always looking for more to add, and to correct any inaccuracies or errors, so if you encounter any, please email me!If the name of the farm is blue with an underline; that's a link to their website. Click on it for the most current hours and information. NOTE: I cannot emphasize this enough: Please, ALWAYS call the farm or store BEFORE YOU GO to confirm their supply, their hours and whether they are allowing choose-and-cut or just precut trees. All three can change during the short Christmas season, due to weather, demand and the farmer's business conditions! Farms change hours, get sold, shut down or run out of trees, and I have no way of knowing, because I can't call or visit every farm every month, let alone every day. - Victory Christmas Tree Farm - Christmas trees- you choose and we cut
6809 Baron Ave., Boise, ID 83714. Phone: 208-853-9216. Directions: From the intersection of Glenwood and State Street, go north on Gary Lane, turn right on Baron Avenue. (Last house on the right, field of trees is behind the house) Open: 8am to 5pm, Friday to Sunday (Friday after Thanksgiving and Saturdays and Sundays thereafter). 2006 Price: $30 each regardless of size, includes sales tax. The fields decorated with cut-outs of reindeer, elves, and Santa. Good photo opportunities. Free candy canes and coloring books.

NOTE: A visitor to the farm reports that it is a very, very small operation with an extremely limited selection of trees
UPDATE October 21, 2007: Another visitor warned that there were hardly nay trees and they were not shaped (pruned).

- Trail Creek Sleigh Rides - sleigh rides

A sleigh ride to Trail Creek Cabin for dinner has traditionally been one of the most memorable and fun Sun Valley winter experiences for the whole family. Round trip scenic rides are available Tuesday through Saturday. Private bookings are also available. Dinner sleighs leave the Sun Valley Inn at 6:00, 7:00 and 8:00 pm Tuesday through Saturday. Three sleighs depart at each time and each sleigh carries about 20 people. The ride lasts about 1⁄2 hour. Dress should be warm and blankets are provided. Reservations should be made well in advance to ensure availability. The purchase of a sleigh ride ticket confirms a reservation for dinner at Trail Creek Cabin. Reservations should be made through the Sports and Recreation Center, 208-622-2135. The Sports and Recreation Center is open daily from 8:00 am until the last sleigh leaves the Inn. Weather permitting, sleighs will run mid December through March.
